Marathon Complete!
On Sunday, October 22nd, I completed the Chicago Marathon in memory of Ian MacDonald. I ran the race with 'For Ian' written across the back of my shirt and I felt his strength with me for each of the 26.2 miles.
My finish time was 3:53:58 and I averaged 8:55 minute miles. My overall stats were 9,664th out of 33,633 participants, 2,394th out of all females and 607th in my Division of females 25 - 29.
The final donation amount to the Melanoma Research Foundation was $11,085. Thank you all for your generosity and support over the past several months.
This has been an amazing and emotional experience, and I couldn't have done it for a better person, family and cause.

Came across this page as I was searching for news on the sf marathon. Very touching. Ian sounds like a fantastic guy and you are a great friend to have done this. Thank you. Very inspiring.

i skated with you if it is. my dad passed away of melanoma 4 years ago... i was really touched by this page and the fact you raised so much money for more research on a cancer that really people know so little about.
It is me, same Mollie from UofD! I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad. Not sure how long ago you left this comment, but if you ever see this reply, please get in touch on Facebook. All my best to you and your family.
